Castelyn & Associates was established in 2012. When founder Richard Castelyn left his previous firm to start out on his own, something telling happened. Most of his clients came with him. Not because they had to, but because of the relationships that had been built over the years. That is the kind of firm we set out to be, and that is still the kind of firm we are today.
We are not the corporate firm where employees in suits and ties process your file and move on. We are the professional firm where you can sit down, have a cup of coffee, and actually talk about your business with someone who knows it.
We are a SAIPA registered firm and we are SARS registered Professional Tax Practitioners. We handle everything from basic monthly accounting and payroll to complex tax structures and SARS compliance. We service clients all over South Africa and stay current with technology so working with us is straightforward and efficient.

ABOUT RICHARD CASTELYN
Some accountants send you an invoice and disappear until next year. That is not how I wanted to work.
I am a Registered Professional Accountant and a Registered Professional Tax Practitioner. I did my articles at GBM Auditors and went on to spend four years as a manager at another accounting firm before starting Castelyn & Associates in 2012. I have spent over 20 years working with business owners across South Africa, from businesses just finding their feet to established companies with complex structures.
I started this firm because I wanted clients to actually know who was handling their money and not just feel like they are another number, and that is still how I run it today.
My firm specialises in working with owner-managed businesses who want to know what is going on in their finances, not just receive a set of numbers once a year or have one phone call when VAT is due. As your business grows, your accounting and tax needs grow with it. I have the depth and the team to handle that, from basic monthly accounting to complex tax structures and SARS compliance.
I do not believe in employing article clerks who rotate every three years and need to relearn your business from scratch. The people looking after your account know it properly, and they stay.
